Commission Adopts 2026 Cleanup of the Resiliency Code
A long list of fixes to the city's zoning code, from definitions to fees to how appeals work. Paint review isn't part of it.

The fine print got an update. The Commission approved on second reading the 2026 periodic update to the Resiliency Code, the city's zoning and land-development rulebook.
What it does. Item R5 H clarifies definitions, sets fees for commission warrants, certificates of use and landscape reviews, clarifies quasi-judicial hearing procedures, and states that appeals of historic certificates of appropriateness (including for demolition) go to a special magistrate. It also touches parking calculations, temporary signs, ground-floor and first-floor standards, single-family and multifamily district rules, and allowed height exceptions.
What was discussed. One caller asked whether the pause on exterior-paint color review was folded in. It isn't, staff said on the record; that was a separate item (R5 AD).
What's next. The ordinance is adopted.
