Barricades and signs that outlive a job may soon have a deadline. The Commission approved on first reading an ordinance requiring prompt removal of construction-related materials, equipment, devices and signs from the public right-of-way once they're no longer authorized or reasonably necessary.

What's next. Second reading at a future meeting. The companion graffiti-mitigation change (FR 3) also passed; a building-fee update (FR 1) was deferred after a commissioner asked for the financial backup.
