Capital Reallocation Passes as Residents Question a Dog Park Site and Tree Fund Use
The budget-adjustment item passed in a block vote; speakers raised three concerns.

A budget-adjustment resolution that moves capital money among projects passed in a block vote with no discussion from the dais, after three residents raised concerns during public comment.
What residents said. A District 4 resident asked the Commission to hold a $100,000 allocation for the 'El Paticito Play Street' dog park at SW 59th Court and SW 2nd Street, a roughly 50-by-134-foot platted street segment ringed by homes and four mature oaks, until Parks reviews the site and alternatives. He noted Furlong Park, less than half a mile away, already has a dog park. Another speaker urged a pause on using the Tree Trust Fund for beautification and infrastructure until an audit's guidance is addressed. A third objected to the size of the reallocation coming so soon after budget adoption.
What's next. No changes were made to the item on the record.
